Put some water in a container with some splash of apple cider vinegar (or only filtered water) and give the broccoli a little wash leaving rest for a few minutes
Place the broccoli into a pan with boiling water then reduce to medium heat for 12 minutes, and leave it to cool
Put apart some small florets that will give texture and reserve
Blend the bigger part of broccoli with some of the water where they cooked, only the necessary to help the blending process,
Then in a warm pan melt the butter
Add the onion and cook until is tender or transparent
Now is time to pour the blended broccoli into the pan
Add the small florets of broccoli into to soup
As it is in the heat add the salt to taste. Chose how creamy you want it to be if wished add more liquid.

If you have the time: Cut the broccoli clean the end of the steam and leave the broccoli to rest for 30-40 minutes, There are studies that say this time allows for the broccoli release the nutrients more potentially.
