What can I say if this is one of the residential Houses of the British Royal Family! Before hand I tell you that is not allow to take videos of photographs from the interior of the House, it stays in my memory bank, however I got some photographs and videos from another areas and from the stunning gorgeous gardens. The same week that we visited Castle Rising we also visited the Sandringham House, in which I have to say that I loved that all the staff is very kind and make you feel very comfortable, they were lovely.
As we arrived after leaving the car park we walked to the building for tickets, then it took us about 15 minutes of walking through the garden to arrive to the House, I didn’t take any pictures really of that until we were closer to the House. When arriving at the door of the House we got an immediate welcoming then some brief information of what you will see, following for another staff in each area. The walls in particular are amazing, they are not painted either have wall paper is an amazing fine silk with lovely details with texture and golden embroidered decoration, it is all made by hand, exquisite and immaculate, can you imagine the meticulous care it requires to keep it perfect, battling the humidity. It was Queen Elizabeth II who decided the details in the decoration and instated of paint or wall paper she had the unique idea of requiring this embroidered silk for embellishment of the walks in the Women Room.
After seeing the House we visited what it used to be the old stables, nowadays there is a cafeteria, next to it there are some rooms where they showcase old fire engines, equipment and all the tools of the time…. lets see now inside.
I have never been into cars at all, there are a couple of models that get my attention for example the old Jeep used in the war time or rough roads, then who would not like this fabulous Rolls-Royce! the last one at the right in the following video, stunning!.
We walked appreciating the gorgeous gardens, Josh my son really enjoys walking in the nature and is a great observer of details.
As we were walking and I was taking some pictures, this happened, I stared recording and fortunately didn’t stop while continued walking, you will see the change of scenario in the lake, a little squirrel and the ducks in the distance like in a soup opera waiting for their act to start, after the squirrel act for later disappear in her busy day, ready just on time the group of ducks started their act flying like in a dance, it was a beautiful scene all together and the best is that I could catch that momentum, which enjoyed greatly, it filled my heart! here is the video hope you enjoy as much as I do when I see it.
The picture don’t really make justice to this pond, designed beautifully, and the sound of the water like a water fall, the autumnal colours display so beautiful!
The colours in Autumn are my favourite
St Mary Magdalene Church, is considered to be one of the finest carrstone buildings in existence and its present form dates back to the 16th century. As it is close to Sandringham House is where the royal family attend to the Christmas service. Joshua is always interested in church buildings, he loves to see them in picture but mostly visiting them, unfortunately was closed this time, there will be more times to visit anyway.
