10 Cosy Winter Essentials

Today I share with you 10 Cosy Winter Essentials, hoping it will help you to enjoy the season even more too.

Child and adult size baking tools

If you have children this is a very effective way to bond with your child and to make memories, I do love when my son participates in the baking, this also helps to encourage trust and good communication in a relaxed way, besides, baking also helps to develop skills like reading, strengthen muscles for writing, and helps to develop their independence. It’s an activity to look forward and I cannot miss to enjoy it together with my son.

Warm throws

Functional way to get cosy and enjoy a nice movie, book, drink or conversation. Recently I was lucky to find a great offer for this lovely blue wool throw, there was only one colour and design although I am very happy with it as not only look good but feels so nice and warm!

Thermos

When going out if it is a kind of long errand or just a walk, having a nice warm drink in the car or taking a thermos in your bag is not only a way to keep warm but also hydrated, there are again different sizes for every practicality.

Indoors activities or games to do with children

Fresh air and movement are always important also in winter. It is necessary to go out for walks although, we know it’s inevitable to spend more time indoor in the winter days. I got these books years ago, they have plenty of options, or you could go to the library and take the books home for few days, fortunately online there are a lot of websites like www.twinkle.co.uk or pinterest, also write the age of your child when searching for a better outcome, and these just to mention a couple, in case running out of ideas. Prepare things like seasonal Christmas story books, ideas to use the light box, the twister, games, craft resources.

Cinnamon sticks

It might sound strange but it’s so good for so many things like

which make them an essential for me, for example together with vanilla. I like to always have in hand for when I decide to make a winter rice pudding, I love to make it, they are also great for a warm milky drink, pumpkin drink or so.

Essential oils

They can help your health to prepare for the cold weather and give a lovely fragrant and cosy feeling at home, not to mention they make you feel relaxed and focus. Frankincense and Myrrh are some of my favourite, when is about fragrance I love cinnamon, orange, lemon, lavender, but there are more in my collection.

Large Mug

It’s a great companion for reading or while watching television, I like a large mug so can hold a quite large amount of nice drink.

Tea to boost the Immune System

Home remedies can be really a saver, who doesn’t know the tea of lemon and honey? even better if you add the ginger, just caution if your stomach is sensitive. In winter season is very good for strengthening the immune system. Honestly I would dare to say, that old remedies from the grandmother can be as effective as a conventional medicine, sometimes more, only without the side effects.

Candles

When it’s about lighting the candles definitely, I prefer bee wax candles because are nontoxic and particularly having children you don’t want anything harmful at home, although, I will be honest, I do also like to have decorative candles.

Hats

Hats are perfect for the cold and rainy days, if going to the town, the woods, countryside, city, anywhere a hat is always a very practical way to keep your head dry, just keep it in your bag and you can play with so many styles, colours and ways to wear them
