“… let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

Reading Time: 4 minutes

This a wonderful verse in 1 John 3:18. How vast the meaning of these words can be, at the same time is so simple to understand. Personally I think that like many things, people can understand and take serious conscious of the meaning partly according to their background or experiences in life, however, not always. When we are in Christ, the past experiences and feelings change, it doesn’t mean are forgotten but are not the main being in you but the new identity in Christ brings a change in your way of thinking, feelings and views. When we experience God’s love for us is something that won’t have comparison to anything else. God is love, there is not a major expression of love out of Him.

St. Valentine Day, remind all the people around the globe the importance of love, the meaning of love. Have you wondered who can know best about love?… only He, the Creator of the entire universe, God who is love himself.

Love has many forms of expression, not only the one for spouse or date, of course is this love too, also the love to your parents, love to your children, to sibblings, the love to friends, the love to God, and we all like and need to be loved, to feel loved to know we are loved, the same way we have the need to love others to give love. We all were designed to be this way, children, young adults, and elders during all our life.

At the end of this post I will give you some recommendations, do not forget to take a look at them.

All the different types of love like, parents to children, fraternal, to the spouse, to God, etc. have something in common, all of them is that each one involve expressions, actions, actually love is an action, love is a Verb.

Someone who says I love you but do nothing to show it, if there are no actions that support those words then would lack credibility, does not make sense, the same way an action with no love is irrelevant, the actions and love go together, unless love is accompanied with actions is not effective.

Better is open rebuke than hidden love” Proverbs 27:5

And what are characteristics of Love? so we can show love, in actions we need to know how, take a look on the next passage:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. ” 1st Corinthians 13:4-8

Naturally when you love someone you want to see them happy, you would try to do or stop doing things in order to see them happy and that make you happy as well, always keeping your own identity and respect to yourself.

Do not forget the verse in the title of this post teach us that love is : “…. actions and in truth” as I mention before an action with no love is irrelevant. Actions and Love go hand and hand, unless love is accompanied with actions is not effective.

If you are reading until here, I would love to hear your opinion and comments bellow.
